How to Design Your Own Life
--
It is more important who you become than what you get
Personal development is about your learning to live smarter, learning to understand yourself and others better, and then taking the knowledge that you have gained to take action on it. Sometimes when we are talking about personal growth and making changes to our thoughts and our way of responding to life it can get very abstract. Knowing how to take action in the more abstract areas of our lives can be difficult to define. With this in mind I have put together some ideas that you can put into place to help keep you moving and motivated.
If there is one thing that I have found that people miss is that self-help is an inside job. What I mean by this is that it is up to you to take what you learn and put it into action. Reading a book or attending a seminar is a great place to start, but if you do not practice the things that they teach you then it has gone to waste. WIth this in mind here are some simple things that you can do to help yourself to grow.
Do something different over the next 90 days. It can be something simple like reading a new self-help book and taking action on what you learn.
Change your diet
Spend more time with your family
Quit a bad habit
Plan to train for and run a 5k
When you choose something positive in any part of your life, it will change multiple parts of your life for the better. When you set goals, follow them consistently, and keep the right attitude you will automatically be making huge changes in all parts of your life. If you quit smoking and start running what do you think will happen to your energy level? How will that affect the value that you can provide at work? How much more quality time will you have with your family? How much better will you be equipped to handle obstacles? What will you be training yourself to do?
