¨Every day is a new beginning. Treat it that way and stay away from what might have been and look at what can be.¨

Can the Haunting Ever End
This quote to me is one of the biggest lies that you’ll ever be told. What is definitely true is the fact that we need to put the past behind us and the past is not something we can change. Still we must find a way to live our lives with the past that has led us to where we are. In any time, but especially now,it is impossible to put much of the past behind us due to the fact that we live in a world full of technology that stores everything forever. To make matters worse it does it in a way that makes it easy for others to find it. I heard a singer, Radny Foster, sing a line that went something along the lines of I might be done with my past but it ain’t done with me. So if you have done something horrible in your past, if you have a criminal record or if you treated your body horribly due to drug addiction or not eating well or via some other negative reality, it is part of your life and it will affect you forever. Here is a quote that while hinting of time being non linear is realistic in its assessment of the place and power of the past.
“The past is never dead. It’s not even past.”
― William Faulkner
I guess the important thing is to not let something you cannot change affect you every day. Still, you have to realize that your past is a big part of who you are today. Whether it be your current reputation or your current situation the past is a big part of the present. I am surprised that the history teachers have not made a point about this. We should learn from our past. Learn the good and the bad. Learn as much bad from other people’s mistakes as you can. The problem with this quote is that it minimizes the effects the past has on people.
So I would highly suggest that you come up with a plan for explaining any negatives that are going to show up in your past. it’s highly likely that you’re going to have to answer questions when you go seeking employment. Certainly your credit history is going to have an effect on how much money you can borrow or whether or not…
